Precious Reminder

Was just reminded of this and had to share.

~There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good.

So, love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones that don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy and at peace. Falling down is part of LIFE, getting back up is part of LIVING.~

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you, and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11

Tuesday Smiles

It's 3:30 a.m. I walk into work and.... silence. It's me and three producers. I say hello. They greet me back, but there's not much more conversation. After all, it's early--WAY early. I've only been up for a little over an hour.

But by 5:00 a.m. it's like our "little family" has been awake for hours! The silence is gone. We talk. We laugh. We have water gun fights! Yes, I got soaked today.

Fast forward an hour-- and the newsroom turns into a place for Hollywood stars! Enter John O'Hurley. You may remember him as Mr. Peterman from Seinfeld. He appeared on the hit comedy for four seasons and said it was the best thing he ever did! The award winning actor also hosted the popular game show Family Feud.  Such a nice man. It was a pleasure.

Today was all about the unexpected. I seriously have a truly blessed life.  I loved the laughs and the spontaneity of today. It was full of smiles. Despite my hurdles and road blocks in life, I am thankful. Gracious for my daily bouquet of blessings. I got this bracelet to wear as a constant reminder.

May I always see the beauty of the day.

Bubbles, Frisbees, Lemon Pie Ice Cream & Doggies

I've been anchoring the morning show for two months now-- and what an adventure its been! My job duties have changed drastically and so has my sleep schedule!

I've gone from knocking on murder suspect's doors to chasing toads and blowing bubbles! Life has changed dramatically. I'm in bed between 7 and 8 pm. The alarm goes off at 2:15 a.m and coffee is my new best friend.

While I desperately miss telling people's stories every day, I wouldn't change any of THIS. I feel honored and privileged to have been given this new opportunity. My goal is to make this show the best it can be.

The bright side is-- I now have time to thoroughly enjoy my job! Before, I was so busy rushing to make a story deadline-- fun moments didn't come as often as I'd like.  Now, every day I laugh. Every day--I smile. Every day-- I am so thankful for my hilarious spontaneous new co-workers.

After today's show, my producers Martha and Stephen whipped out bubbles and a frisbee. I admit-- I got giddy like a 5-year-old girl. We chowed down on lemon pie ice cream and tossed around a beach ball. For five minutes-- were were kids again.

Then, sweet 7-year-old Katie came to visit. She's one of our producer's daughters. She was so sweet and drew me a doggie picture. These days, it's the small things that make me smile.

A Thankful Heart

It's my new habit. I'm talking about finding the good in every circumstance. We all do it....focus on the negatives and let them pull us down. At times we may not even see any positives in our situation, but I've learned, God always gives blessings even though they may not be readily seen.

This blog is my new journey. It's my commitment to share blessings, smiles, and overflowing joy-- no matter how big or how small.

Sometimes, when we set our sights on what is most important to us-- we fail to see all the small positives along the way. My daily mission is to create a bouquet of blessings. After all, one of life's greatest gifts is gratitude. Will you stop and be thankful with me?

Today-- I start with the beauty all around me. Today-- I am stopping to look around. Today-- I am stopping to have a thankful heart. Whether its the hills, the lakes, the sky, the beautiful tulips coming up in your backyard --HE created it all.
